Kent SEND Inclusion Charter and Mainstream Core Standards

At Sandwich Infant School, we are committed to providing an inclusive education where every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed. We are proud to follow Kent's Mainstream Core Standards and the principles of the Kent SEND Inclusion Charter, which set out the expectations for how schools support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The Mainstream Core Standards help ensure that all children receive high-quality teaching, appropriate support and reasonable adjustments to meet their individual needs. They promote inclusive practice across all areas of school life, enabling children with SEND to learn, participate and thrive alongside their peers.

The Kent SEND Inclusion Charter reflects a shared commitment to working in partnership with children, families, schools and wider services. It recognises that every child has strengths, talents and aspirations, and that their views and those of their families should be at the heart of decision-making.

At Sandwich Infant School, we believe that inclusion is everyone's responsibility. We work closely with families, external professionals and support services to create positive outcomes for all children and to ensure that every pupil feels a sense of belonging within our school community.
