At Sandwich Infant School, we have a representative from Kent Young Carers that support some of our pupils who are classed as Young Carers.  We also have Kent Young Carers hosting an assembly to explain to the children about what they do, who they support and why they are available to help. 

Children as young as five can be considered to be a Young Carer.  Young Carers are classed as caring for family members (including a sibling) with a chronic illness, disability, who is neurodivergent, who has poor mental health and/or struggles with substance abuse.
